From Greece, it arrived in Venice in 1300

Of Greek origin, Malvasia was brought to Italy by the Venetians already before the fourteenth century. 

Thanks to the Venetian Republic, from the historical region of Peloponnese, the vine began to spread throughout the upper Adriatic: Istria, Carso, Collio and Isonzo. 

Malvasia is currently cultivated throughout Friuli-Venezia Giulia and in the Slovenian Collio.

Malvasia

The highest expression of pure Istrian Malvasia, an autochthonous variety that is pure. Mostly distributed in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Slovenia and Croatia. The wine is more of a straw yellow color, more or less intense.

The perfume is aromatic, characteristic, with notes of lavender and pepper. The taste is dry, fresh and very vital.

It is usually a low-alcohol wine and therefore enjoyable for any occasion. Excellent as an aperitif, it goes perfectly with fish dishes, white meat, risottos and fresh cheeses.
